Overview of Key Features
Container Image Updated to Chainguard
Brainspace has transitioned from Bitnami container images to Chainguard images to improve the security, compliance, and long-term sustainability of the platform. Chainguard images are designed to minimize known vulnerabilities in container environments, helping provide a more secure and stable foundation for the platform. This change allows us to maintain the same functionality while strengthening the platform’s security posture and ensuring we are using actively maintained, enterprise-grade container images.
Important
As part of the Chainguard update, the Brainspace Postgres database (brains-db service) has some additional upgrade considerations. Before upgrading, administrators should review the Postgres‑specific guidance covering database backup recommendations, postgresql.conf configuration changes, and how to address possible warnings that may be displayed. For more detail, see the Postgres Upgrade Guidance for Chainguard Migration (Brainspace 7.4) article.
Release Details
Important
After upgrading to Brainspace 7.4, do not delete the Brainspace Swarm install directory for the deployed version on the Docker host, otherwise
brains-dbmay fail to start. This dependency will be removed in a future release.
