How to Create a Workspace Template
Saving a Workspace as a template allows you to replicate a workspace's custom fields, folder structure, and workspace participants to minimize time building out your future workspaces. This is particularly helpful if you will be frequently using the same settings across many workspaces. You can turn any existing workspace into a template. To create a workspace template, follow the steps below:
Step 1
Navigate to the workspace you want to create a template of and click on the ellipsis in the upper right corner of the screen.
Step 2
From the dropdown that appears select ‘Save as template’
Step 3
You’ll now see a confirmation pop-up appear indicating your workspace has been saved to templates.
How to Create a New Workspace Using a Template
Once you’ve created a workspace template you can use it when you create a new workspace. To create a new workspace using a workspace template, follow the steps below:
Step 1
Click on ‘Workspaces’ from the main menu (a). Then, click on the ‘+’ icon in the upper right corner of the screen (b) to add a new workspace.
Step 2
On the ‘Create a workspace page’ click on the template icon to the right of the ‘Name’ field. This will bring up additional fields on the page, where you will select your template.
Step 3
Next you’ll add details to create your workspace including:
Naming the workspace in the ‘Name’ field (a).
Select the template you want to use from the dropdown menu in the ‘Existing Workspace template’ field (b).
Select which elements you want to import from your workspace template from the dropdown menu in the ‘Elements to import’ field (c).
If you’d like to share your workspace add the users you’d like to share it with in the ‘Add people’ field (d) and select their permissions from the ‘Permission’ field (e).
Then, click the blue ‘Create’ button at the bottom of the screen (f).
How to Remove a Workspace Template
If you no longer need a workspace template you can remove the workspace template from your list of templates. To remove a workspace template follow the steps below:
Step 1
Navigate to the workspace you want to remove from your templates and click on the ellipsis in the upper right corner of the screen.
Step 2
From the dropdown that appears select ‘Remove from templates’
Step 3
You’ll now see a confirmation pop-up appear indicating your workspace has been removed from templates.
