What Microsoft Teams components are supported and not supported by Onna?

Microsoft Team's API is limited; however, with Onna, we are able to collect:

  • Messages and reactions (emojis) in channels, one-on-one chats, and group chats. Messages collected are grouped in daily conversations.

  • Metadata for teams, channels, and chats. Metadata includes IDs, display names, topics, archival status, and members (including inactive)

  • GIFs and images

  • Attachments and their metadata

  • Below are several limitations that we are aware of:

  • The preview in Onna can't display Adaptive Cards. They are a unique Microsoft format that is not currently supported. However, you can still search for and export them.

  • Edited messages are unavailable from the API and, therefore, cannot be synced. We can track message edits and deletions for data synced into Onna already. For example, if you edit a conversation already in Onna, the conversation will be updated to reflect that change. However, if the change is made before Onna has synced, we will only capture the current version, but we will note that it is edited in the viewer.

  • Some emojis may appear differently in Onna than in Teams.

Currently, we are not collecting loop components for Microsoft Teams Enterprise collections. This is due to an API limitation since those component messages are not returned as messages.

Is there any conversation reconstruction available in Microsoft Teams?

Onna ingests Microsoft Teams conversations in an easy-to-read format, rendered in 24-hour periods. This rendering lets you see, in line, who is messaging back and forth and includes edits, deletions, attachments, emojis, and reactions.
