Slack Overview
Slack is a team communication and collaboration tool. Onna integrates with Slack's API to extract all related data and metadata from an entire Slack account, a specific channel, or private/multiparty chats.
The Slack connector is only able to collect from a single Slack account. If you want to collect data across your organization please learn more about our Slack Enterprise connector.

Slack Considerations
Slack (non-enterprise) collections will display all public channels when configuring your sync (and collect from these if selected), not just those channels that a user is a member of.
Slack Requirements
Our Slack integration can collect from one user account. You'll need credentials for each account you want to collect from.
How to Connect and Collect Using Slack
To create a new Slack collection follow the steps below:
Step 1
Click on ‘Workspaces’ in the main menu (a), then click on the workspace where you’d like to add a new sync (b).
Step 2
Click on the ‘+’ icon in the upper right corner to add a new source
Step 3
Select the Slack connector from your list of available connectors.
Step 4
To start configuring your new sync, enter a source name in the ‘Name’ field (a). Then, select the threads you want to sync (b). Finally, click ‘Configure’ (c).
Step 5
You’ll now be taken to the Oauth flow. Click ‘Allow’ to give Onna permission to access your Slack workspace.
Step 6
You’ll now select the channels you want to include in your sync (a). Then, if you want to sync future content, put a check in the box next to ‘Sync any channel created in the future’ (not available with one-time sync) (b).
Select your synchronization mode (c) and set your sync start and/or end dates (d) and then click the blue ‘Done’ button (e).
Step 7
You’ll now see your new source appear alphabetically in the list of ‘Connected sources’ in your workspace.
