Legal data collections, by nature, are often tedious, consuming both time and resources as well as incurring expenses. Ensuring customers have tools to optimize critical data is essential with Onna.
Feature 1: Flexible Search
Broad searches exported directly to a review platform or another application for preliminary culling wastes both time and, potentially, money. In Onna, flexible search capabilities - such as text modifiers - allow users to hone in on only necessary data for an active collection.
Feature 2: Filtering
Once datasets are produced for a specific search in Onna, filters can be customized and leveraged to eliminate unnecessary data and reduce costs associated with review. Common filters include source type, category, file type, extension, participants, tags, etc.
Feature 3: Tagging & Custom Fields
Tagging: Freeform tags allow users to create custom ‘labels’ in Onna so results can be segmented into datasets specific to, for example, priority or severity (ex. urgent, primary, secondary, important), action (review for ‘x’ matter, share, eliminate), user assignment, event (foia request, performance grant), etc. While users can create their own ad hoc labels, the downside is you may end up with multiple tags representing the same value due to misspellings, abbreviations or different formats.
Custom Fields: Similar to tags, custom fields allow custom ‘labels’ to be created so results can be culled and segmented, but custom fields must be created and maintained by Admins. Custom fields provide standardized list options offering consistency for more accurate result sets; however, list options are not editable by users.
Feature 4: Export Templates
When a collection dataset is culled and ready for export, manually configuring exports with the same metadata and export package selections repeatedly can compound inefficiencies. To optimize both time and expenses, users can easily save export configurations as a template so selections are standardized and collection results are predictable.
