# Internal Notes

Internal Notes is the agency's private scratchpad for a request. Notes are visible only to agency staff and are never shown to the requester.

## Adding a note

1. Type your note in the **Add an internal note...** field.
2. Click **Add Note**.

Internal notes use plain text only — there is no rich text toolbar or file attachment option. For formatted messages or attachments, use the [Messages](/logikcull-for-public-records/docs/messages) tab instead.

## Editing a note

Each note displays the author's email address, a timestamp, and the note text. Click the pencil icon on a note card to edit it after it has been saved.
