# Tracking ID - Customize

The Tracking ID tab allows you to customize the format of the Tracking ID for you agency’s records requests.

You can customize each component of the Tracking ID:

1. Static Text Prefix- Enter the static text prefix that you want to include within every Tracking ID. This static text will appear at the beginning of every Tracking ID.
2. Date - This will be the year the request was submitted. This should always be set to the current year.
3. Static Text Suffix - Enter the static text you want to include after the Date. This could be any text such as your agency’s office id or location.
4. Random - This will be the unique identier component of the Tracking ID. This allows each Tracking ID to be unique based on a random set of characters. You can specify the length of this unique id.
5. Include additional static text, date, and sequential number components to your Tracking ID format using the options listed below the default components.
6. Delete specific components by clicking on the trash can icon to the right of the component.
7. Change the order of components by using the up and down arrow options.
8. Click ‘Save’ to save your Tracking ID format changes.
