Apply an Issue to a Transcript

You can apply an issue type to selected text in a transcript using the Issues Applicator.

To apply an issue type to page and line references in a transcript, open a transcript in a case and follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Issues Applicator.

    The Issues Applicator appears.

  2. Click and drag to select a page and line range within the transcript.

  3. Select an issue in the applicator.

    You can select an issue type to be applied in one of the following ways:

    • Check the box next to the issue type with the mouse

    • Type in the issue type's shortcut keys and press Enter. For more information on using shortcut keys, see Overview: Issues.

    With the issue type selected, you can move on to the next step.

  4. Apply the selected issue type.

  5. You can apply the issue type to the selected lines in the transcript in one of the following ways:

    • Click the Apply button in the applicator

    • Press the hotkey(s) on the keyboard and then press Enter. See below for examples.

      Example:

      To apply the At Will issue, complete the following steps:

      1. Highlight a qualified area of the transcript.

      2. Press the A key.

      3. Then press the W key.

      4. Then press the Enter key.

        The issue will be applied.

      Example:

      To apply the Inconsistent issue, complete the following steps:

      1. Highlight a qualified area of the transcript.

      2. Press the I key.

      3. Then press the Enter key.

        The issue will be applied.

      Note:

      Issue type shortcut keys are not available when applying issue types to documents.

    The issue type is applied to the selected lines in the transcript.

    Note:

    nsure the Issues check box in the Show Annotations section of the Transcript Work Area ribbon bar is selected in order to view all issue types applied to the transcript.

    The page and line reference for the issue type appears in the Issues Explorer and under the corresponding transcript in the Transcripts Explorer.

Note:

The Issues Applicator contains a Keep Selection check box. With this check box checked, after you select an issue type and apply it to a transcript, the check box remains checked so that you can select another range of text in the transcript and apply the same issue type without having to select the issue type again. If the check box is not checked, the issue type will be de-selected after you apply the issue type to the transcript.
