Work with the Document Work Area Ribbon Bar

The Document Work Area allows you to work with individual documents. To open the Document Work Area, select a document from the Documents Explorer and click the Open Document button in the Documents Explorer ribbon bar. The Document Work Area appears with the selected document populated inside.

The Document Work Area ribbon bar is organized into several sections for easier navigation. The following actions are available to you when working with a document:

Documents are ordered in the Documents Explorer.

  • Prev - Clicking the Prev button opens the document before the current document in the work area.

  • Next - Clicking the Next button opens the document after the current document in the work area.

Page

If the document in the work area is a multi-page document, these page navigation buttons become active.

  • Prev - The Prev button shows the page before the current page.

  • Next - The Next button shows the page after the current page.

Alternatively, you can type in the page number you want to see directly in the field above the Prev and Next buttons. When you press Enter on the keyboard, the page you entered appears.

The Print Page button initiates the printing process for the page of the document currently shown in the work area.

Revisions

Revisions are ordered under their respective documents or pages in the Documents Explorer. If the document in the work area contains revisions with  these revision navigation buttons become active.

  • Prev - The Prev button shows the revision page before the current revision page.

  • Next - The Next button shows the revision page after the current revision page.

Alternatively, you can type in the revision page number you want to see directly in the field above the Prev and Next buttons. When you press Enter on the keyboard, the revision page you entered appears.

Auxiliary

Each button in the Auxiliary section opens a separate panel that provides additional options for working with the document:

  • Issues - Opens the Issue Applicator that you can use to apply issue types to the document.

  • Details - Opens the document's Details panel where you can change any of the document's information. After making any changes, such as changing the name of the document, click Save to keep the changes you made. You can also see any Issues or Notes already applied to the document at the bottom of the Details panel.

  • Notes - Opens the Add Note dialog. Enter the information for the note and click the Save button. The note is saved and can be seen in the document's Details panel.

  • Annotations - Opens the Document Annotations panel.

Options

You can click the Close button to close the document and the work area.

Many of these same actions appear in the Documents Explorer context menu.
