You can reposition clips segments in the following areas:
The Clips Explorer
The Clip Work Area
You can reposition clip segments within a clip to change the order in which they play. The sections below describe different methods for how you can reposition clip segments.
Clips Explorer
When you expand a clip, using the button, the segments belonging to the clip are listed below it. You can select a segment and then click and drag the clip segment to another location. The segment is repositioned from the original clip location to the location where you dropped the segment. Alternatively, you can also cut a segment from one position in a clip and paste it in another.
Note:
You can only drag and drop, or cut and paste, segments that correspond to clips from the same transcript. If you would like to move a clip segment from one clip to another, see Drag and Drop Clip Segments Between Clips.
Drag and Drop Segments
To reposition a clip in the Clips Explorer via the drag-and-drop method, open a case and follow the steps below:
In the Clips Explorer, open a clip and select a clip segment.
Drag the segment to another location in the list of segments to reposition it. A message appears indicating where the segment will be moved to.
Release the left mouse button. The clip is moved to the new location.
Note:
When you reposition clip segments in the Clips Explorer, the segments are also repositioned in the Clip Work Area. If the clip segments do not reposition automatically in the Clip Work Area, close and reopen the clip in the Clip Work Area.
Cut and Paste Segments
To reposition a clip in the Clips Explorer via cut and paste, open a case and follow the steps below:
In the Clips Explorer, open a clip and right-click a clip segment.
Note:
You can also select multiple clip segments at one time, by Shift + left-clicking, or Ctrl + left-clicking, for a contiguous or non-contiguous set of segments. Once the needed segments have been selected, you can then right-click to open the context menu.
Select Cut Segment(s).
Find the segment beneath which you would like the cut segment(s) to appear. Right-click that segment and click Paste Segment(s).
The cut segment(s) are removed from their former position and added to their new position.
Clip Work Area
To reposition a clip from the Clip Work Area, open the Clips Explorer in an open case and follow the steps below:
Select a clip from the Clips Explorer.
Click the Launch Work Area button.
The Clip Work Area appears with the clip you selected populated inside.
Select the clip segment you would like to move and reposition it using the Move Segment Up and Move Segment Down buttons:
Select the Move Segment Up button to move a selected segment one position up in the Clip Segments section.
Select the Move Segment Down button to move a selected segment one position down in the Clip Segments section.
When you have finished reordering the clip segments, click Save in the ribbon bar. The changes are saved in the Clip Work Area and the clip segments are automatically reordered in the Clips Explorer.
