Release Notes - Version 6.7 (Release Date: 09/30/2022)

Brainspace 6.7. continues Reveal’s lead in AI-Driven Analytics by adding even more flexibility to commonly-used workflows in Brainspace, based on feedback from our customer community. Major features in 6.7 incude Rolling Additions to Focuses and Multiple Positive/Negative Choices for Tags, but there have also been a number of updates, tweaks, and fixes. In addition to these release notes, feature briefs are available at https://brainspace-help.revealdata.com.

Also of note, for our internal Support and Customer-facing Teams, is that there is a feature that will be deprecated – New Predictive Coding sessions will not be possible to create. Existing sessions will still work.

Focuses

Rolling Additions to Focus

When adding documents to a focus, you now can choose to add to an existing focus, or to a new one. This will help clients who rely on focuses in CMML supervised learning sessions in preserving and continuing the session when new documents get identified and added to an existing focus.

CMML sessions created with the previous ‘version’ of the focus will continue to work, with just a small refresh to score the newly added documents.

Learn more about this at Document Viewer – Manage Documents in a Focus.

New

Supervised Learning

Multiple Choices for Tags

When creating Tags, especially for use with classifiers, it’s now possible to have more than one choice be mapped to the mean ‘Positive’ for CMML training, and/or more than once choice to mean ‘Negative,’

Each choice still has to have one of three ‘meanings’ when the Tag is used for a CMML classifier. But more than one choice under the same Tag can have that meaning. For example, Responsiveness>Hot Doc and Responsiveness>Responsive can both mean ‘Positive’ for CMML training.

Multiple ‘Neutral’ choices are also supported, but as before, they do not provide training input to CMML.

Learn more about this at Tags – Create a New Tag and Continuous Multimodal Learning – Choice Tags.

New

Administration

Monthly Dataset Reports

Added ability to store monthly reports, each including all datasets in a Brainspace instance, to assist with tracking month-to-month changes to the reported dataset metrics.

Monthly reports will only be available after upgrading to 6.7 and only reflect timeframes following the upgrade/installation.

New

Supervised Learning

Pin and Sort Cards

Convenience feature to improve the user experience, especially for clients with many classifiers under one dataset. Users can pin classifiers, as they can datasets, and use the same filtering and sorting options.

New

Notebooks

Pin and Sort Cards

Similarly, users can pin Notebooks, as they can datasets and classifiers, and use similar filtering and sorting options.

Deprecated

Predictive Coding

New PC sessions no longer possible

Users will no longer be able to create new Predictive Coding sessions. Existing Predictive coding sessions are not disabled, they can continue to be used (for the time being).

It’s highly recommended that clients use CMML with ACS as a replacement for PC.

Fix

CMML

Total number of classifiers

Fixed incorrect label in header area of CMML page, where system models were counted in addition to user-created ones.

Fix

CMML

ASCII Control Characters

Fixed issue where a new training round could fail if it encountered features that contained ASCII control characters (which should have been filtered out).

Fix

Connectors

API

Fixed scenario where unnecessary additional configuration info was being included in some API responses.

Fix

Connectors

View Source Doc Button

View Source Document button that contains a link back to the document in Relativity could disappear in certain cases. This was corrected.

Fix

Administration

Manage Tags

Creating too many neutral choices (30 or more) in the Admin area could result in unintended effects on CMML training sessions. This was corrected.

Fix

Advanced Error Reporting

Exception reporting

Added more debug information: when an exception occurs during training due to feature attributes being empty; or when a segmentation error occurs.

A release may also include several internal optimizations and corrections without major visible effect.
