Prev Next

Release Dates: 4/21/2026 - 4/28/2026

Overview of Key Features

  • Saved Searches now can be shared with others via a direct link or by email, making it easier for teams to collaborate and reuse search results.

Users

  • Instance admins are now able to bulk import users using CSV, XLS, or XLSX files, making it faster and easier to onboard multiple users at once without importing them individually.

Production

  • The Source dropdown in the Imaging tab of the Production Job screen has been improved for better clarity. Source names have been updated to make it easier to identify where images originate within a production set. A tooltip has also been added with links to documentation, to help users understand and choose the correct source.

Archives

  • Archives has been enhanced to give users more control over what gets included in an archive. When creating an archive, users can now selectively include Processing, Review, or AI databases instead of archiving all project components. This helps reduce storage usage and save time by excluding unnecessary data. The “Archive Details” page has also been updated to clearly display which databases were included under the Settings section for better visibility and tracking.

  • A new “Size” column has been added to the Archives list, allowing users to see the compressed size of each archive in a clear, readable format (e.g., GB).

Field Mappings

  • Users can no longer edit or delete the Brainspace Overlay and Processing to Review mappings, ensuring the integrity and availability of these essential templates. The template remains visible for reference, and users can still view its details, but edit and delete actions are disabled for all users regardless of permissions. Templates can still be managed through Review Manager as before.

Processing Grid

  • A new “Natives” option has been added to the quick download dropdown in the processed files preview grid, allowing users to easily download the native files they are viewing. This also enables quick export of errored files directly from the processing grid, improving access and speeding up troubleshooting. For example, users can quickly download a corrupt file (such as a PST) from the grid, review or fix it outside the platform, and then reprocess it.

Processing Project Template

  • The ability to select a Processing Template during project creation is now out of feature flag, and is available to all users. Templates can be chosen based on the selected Company to support consistent setup, and can be managed in the Processing Overview tab by both instance and company administrators.

Reveal Upload Manager

  • A Metadata Preservation File is now generated when uploading native files through the Reveal Upload Manager. The CSV captures key system metadata—OS last access, last modified, last metadata change, and creation time—before files are uploaded to S3, preventing these values from being overwritten and ensuring accurate metadata is retained.

Type

Category

Description

New

Archives

Added a new “Size” column to the Archives view. This sortable column shows the compressed size of each archive in a user-friendly format (e.g., GB), letting users quickly see how large an archive is without starting a download or relying on temporary Overview page stats.

New

Saved Search

Added the ability to share saved searches via direct link or email.

New

Users

Added a bulk import capability in the Users area. Instance admins can now import multiple users at once using CSV, XLS, or XLSX files.

Update

aji

The system now displays a breakdown of document counts, clearly showing which documents were successfully scored and which were excluded from the AI run, improving visibility into processing results. AI runs will also show a “Completed with Warning” status when all documents in the set are scored but exclusions are present.

Update

aji

Classifiers will no longer automatically re-run when new data is loaded into a project. This change prevents unintended executions after incremental data loads and improves clarity and control over when classifiers are run.

Update

aji

Classifier cards now display a notification when new data has been loaded into the project but has not yet been scored, improving visibility and helping users take action as needed.

Update

Archives

The Archive feature has been updated to allow selective archiving of project components. When creating an archive, users can now choose to include only Processing, Review, or AI data, rather than archiving everything.

Update

Activity

Updated the Activity Log export functionality to generate files in CSV format. The tooltip text has also been updated to reflect the change.

Update

Data Management

The Download Log button in the Rebuild Document Data view has been updated to correctly trigger the export endpoint and return the correct data. The log file is downloaded in CSV format and follows the standardized naming convention [Job type]_[timestamp].csv. The timestamp includes hours, minutes, and seconds making files easier to identify and track.

Update

Export

Updated how the “File Name” metadata is populated for email files. Emails were previously assigned the generated filename format GUID_subject.msg. The metadata now reflects subject.msg instead.

This change only affects metadata values and does not impact actual file names written to disk/S3 or stored paths.

Update

Export

Combined “Display” and “Email” values in the native RSMF output so that names and email addresses or phone numbers are visible for each participant when available. This applies both to individual messages within the chunk and the header listing all participants, making it easier to identify users and their contact information.

Update

Field Mappings

The Brainspace Overlay template is now set up as a System Template and can’t be edited or deleted. The template is still visible, and users can click in to view the details, but the edit and delete options are disabled for everyone, regardless of their permissions. There’s also a new tooltip on the disabled buttons that states “Required field mappings cannot be changed.” Templates can still be edited or deleted through Review Manager as before.

Update

Indexing

The indexing process for native and spreadsheet views has been separated into different queues.

Update

Jobs Details

Updated the UI so OCR Job Settings are visible in the Settings section for completed jobs.

Update

Native View (PDF)

Updated the system to prevent Native View from extracting and displaying internal data from executable and system files (such as .exe and .dll). Previously, users could see raw text strings and section names (e.g., “This program cannot be run in DOS mode,” .text, .rdata, .data, .rsrc) in the content pane. Now, these file types are not indexed for text extraction, and the document viewer shows a message indicating that the file type is not supported for native viewing.

Update

Processing Grid

Added a job-level re-indexing button to the Processing Index list. Users can now select specific job(s) and trigger re-indexing for those items instead of running a full re-index.

Update

Processing Grid

Added a “Natives” section to the quick download options in the processed files preview grid, allowing users to quickly download any native files they are viewing. To enable this functionality, re-index the entire processing grid.

Update

Processing

Added a UI warning for Re-Index jobs when the project database version is outdated.

Update

Production

Updated source names in the Imaging tab and added a tooltip with links to documentation to guide users in selecting the right source.

Update

Uploader

Added detection to prevent Import jobs from being submitted via the web when the project database is not updated. If the database is out of date, the job request is blocked and a message is shown indicating the project database needs to be updated before the job can be distributed.

Update

Uploader

Standardized UI messaging for project database update warnings across job modals.

Update

Upload Manager

The Reveal Upload Manager now generates a metadata preservation CSV when uploading native files, capturing key file system timestamps before upload to S3 to prevent data loss. During processing, this CSV is used to restore original file timestamps.

Metadata preservation files are excluded from import as documents and do not count toward totals. After import, OS Creation, Last Access, and Saved Date/Time fields are automatically updated from the CSV.

Fix

aji

A warning message is now displayed in the AI Batching UI when the classifier has no remaining documents in the training queue, helping users quickly identify when additional training data is needed.

Fix

aji

An issue where switching from Document Preview to Full Viewer opened the wrong document has been fixed.

Fix

Archives

Addressed a bug where archived items could not be deleted.

Fix

Assignments

A bug where assignment folders created during bulk assign would stay stuck in a loading state and prevent the deletion from completing has been resolved.

Fix

Document Viewer

Resolved a bug in Document Viewer where third-party redactions were missing in the Native (PDF) view after being flattened using Aspose.

Fix

Deletions

Fixed a bug where users were unable to delete document artifacts from the processing grid due to the deletion job failing with an error. Artifact deletion now works as expected.

Fix

Document Viewer

Addressed an issue where the Pre-viewer would not highlight keyword search results or show them in the Doc Explorer.

Fix

Document Viewer

An issue in the Document Viewer where the Family Members panel wouldn’t show or update correctly when moving between documents in the same email thread was addressed.

Fix

Export

Resolved an issue where exporting images as PDF for Australian Protocols would complete with an error, while the export status graph incorrectly showed all documents as successful.

Fix

Export

Fixed an issue where exporting RSMF data would include data from imports that were not yet completed. Exports now automatically exclude data from incomplete imports, allowing the export to complete successfully.

Fix

Export

Fixed a bug where the Protected flag was being removed from certain files during OCR jobs.

Fix

Export

Corrected an issue where the master date for duplicate efiles was incorrectly set to the file system modified date. The master date now correctly matches the application last saved date.

Fix

Export

Fixed an issue where using “Import + Export to Review” on already promoted data created an empty export entry in Discovery Manager. The system would generated a blank export in the Exports module, using an export ID and appearing in the sequence despite export creation being restricted in this scenario. The system now prevents export job creation in DM and ensures export IDs are not incremented when this action is not permitted.

Fix

Export

Fixed a bug in the Upload module where the Custodian, Location, and Source dropdowns would occasionally close immediately after being clicked.

Fix

Export

Fixed an issue where Review Overlay exports were not functioning correctly for specific projects. Although jobs were showing as completed, no load file was generated and no overlay task was created in Review, resulting in metadata updates not being applied.

Fix

Export

Fixed an issue where the Archives Store field was not being populated in the load file.

Fix

Export Jobs

Fixed an issue where the Download button in was incorrectly enabled for some export jobs created in Discovery Manager (like Parent/Child, Natives Only, Overlay, and Australian Protocol exports). Attempting to download these exports would fail. The Download button now only appears for export jobs created through bulk actions and is hidden for other export types, as expected.

Fix

Field Mappings

Fixed an issue where the Delete button on the Field Mapping Details page would not work for custom templates, even when it was enabled.

Fix

Import QC

Addressed a bug where Reprocess settings were incorrectly shown for Replace jobs.

Fix

Import

Improved handling of password-protected PDF files during processing with Aspose.PDF. The system now correctly detects encrypted PDFs before attempting to open them and ensures all password-protected files are correctly flagged as protected in the Processing Status table and reflected accurately in QC.

Fix

Import

Fixed an issue that would cause Teams chat imports to stall due to an internal error during processing.

Fix

Import

Fixed an issue where children of PowerPoint files were not being flagged as embedded objects, which would result in email families having more than one Master Date.

Fix

Indexing

Resolved an issue where XLSB spreadsheet files were not being indexed correctly.

Fix

Native View (PDF)

Fixed an issue where email addresses weren’t showing up the same in the Native View (PDF) as they did in Outlook. Now the email shows consistently, and the metadata field correctly displays the sender’s name instead of just the domain.

Fix

Promote to Review

Addressed an issue in the Processing Overview grid where filtering by the Reason “Promote to Review” also returned jobs with the reason “Process and Promote to Review.”

Fix

Production Job

An issue where production jobs were stopping 1–2 minutes after starting was fixed. Jobs now run to completion as expected.

Fix

Processing Grid

A bug where the Preview pane incorrectly displayed “No text available for preview” for files containing text in the Processed Files grid was fixed.

Fix

Processing Grid

Resolved a bug where the error message “The file doesn’t exist” was incorrectly displayed after successfully reprocessing a password-protected file.

Fix

Processing Grid

Resolved an issue where the Custodian field was not updated after unassigning a custodian in Discovery Manager. The Processed Files grid now correctly updates the Custodian to “Unassigned,” sets the Source to “Other,” and clears the Location field (displayed as “-”). An indexing job is also automatically triggered to ensure the updated data is reflected in the grid.

Fix

Processing Grid

Fixed a bug where Reprocess jobs failed to be submitted from the Processed Files grid, displaying the error “Communication with the server failed.”

Fix

Processing Grid

Resolved an issue in the Manage Field Profile modal where entering a value in the dropdown search that does not match any profiles cleared the typed input and displayed “(Missing Translation).” Now, the typed text remains in the search field, and a clear message “No results found” is shown when no matches are available.

Fix

Processing Grid

A bug where Keyword Search and Term List Search failed on processed files due to a “Case settings for case ‘X’ in environment ‘X’ is missing” error was resolved.

Fix

Processing Grid

Fixed a bug where the View Job link showed the wrong document count when promoting files with Project-level or Promote to Review deduplication.

Fix

Processing Grid

Fixed a bug where the OCR timeout timeframe would not be configured from the Processing Grid in Discovery Manager.

Fix

Project

Fixed a bug where admins were unable to add users to a company if the company had no active projects or if all projects were in cold storage.

Fix

Project Settings

Resolved an issue where Embedded Object Extraction settings updated in Web project defaults were not applied during job processing. In some cases, projects created in Web with updated settings—despite matching configurations in DM—did not extract embedded items correctly, resulting in differences in document counts.

Fix

Production

Fixed an issue where generated endorsed images did not respect independent color selections, causing Field + Text color values to inherit the Production Stamp color instead of using the configured Field + Text color.

Fix

Production

Fixed an issue where system-created slipsheet searches were showing up in production in both the Saved Search and Search History modals.

Fix

Redactions

Resolved a bug where the “Has Redaction” field continued to indicate that a document had redactions even after all redactions were removed. This occurred for documents that previously contained redactions but were later cleared.

Fix

Saved Search

A bug where users couldn’t edit and save a search after adding another saved search to its criteria was addressed. Users can now update and save existing searches without needing to create a new one.

Fix

Tag Profiles

Corrected a bug in the bulk Update modal where fields added to a Tag Profile were incorrectly displayed as empty checkboxes. These fields are now no longer shown.

Fix

Tag Profiles

Fixed an issue where duplicating a tag profile would immediately create a new profile instead of opening a pre-filled form.

Fix

Uploads

Fixed an issue where load files with a header field named “FILE_PATH” or FILEPATH would fail to upload, showing a server error.

Fix

Uploads

Fixed a bug where document uploads, indexing, and bulk update jobs were not progressing. Uploaded files that were stuck in a processing state now complete successfully, and the background jobs triggered by these uploads run to completion.
