Overview of Key Features
Reveal Upload Manager
The Reveal Upload Manager provides a new upload option for handling large volumes of native files and load files that exceed browser limitations. When creating a new upload job, users can select “Reveal Upload Manager” to upload files through the desktop application, ensuring more reliable and stable transfers for high-volume data. Uploads continue running in the background, allowing users to close their browser or log out of the project without interruption. For more information on this, see these two articles Upload Native Files - Reveal Upload Manager and Upload Load Files - Reveal Upload Manager.
Processing Settings
Enhanced the Processing Settings modal UI across the General, Numbering, and OCR tabs to improve usability and consistency across the platform, and introduced a new Sorting tab.
In the General tab, a new Date Filter dropdown was added with a default “None” option and conditional date fields. The Excluded File Types field was converted into a text box with helper text and a clear (X) option, allowing users to easily remove entries. Additionally, labeling was refined for NIST Removal, Password Bank, Hashing, Recovery, and ScanPST settings.
Added a Sorting tab that allows users to select fields and sort their files when numbering documents during export.
Updated the Numbering tab to introduce a narrower digits field and added options for naming a prefix, entering a start number, and viewing a preview of documents.
In the OCR tab, the configuration settings were simplified by combining OCR All PDFs and OCR Index Errors into a single “File Types to Image” allowing users to select All PDFs and Index Errors through the checkbox.
Release Details
Outlines additional features, updates, and fixes.
Type | Category | Description |
|---|---|---|
New | Uploads | Added a new “Reveal Upload Manager” upload option. Users can now upload large volumes of native files and load files through the desktop application, allowing for faster and more reliable uploads. |
New | Uploads | Introduced a new feature that streamlines loading DAT data directly from S3. Previously, users were required to manually run find-and-replace operations on file paths using external tools before uploading. With this update, users can select an S3 folder, configure rendering fields, and adjust DAT file paths directly within the browser, significantly reducing the time required to load and index documents directly from S3. |
Update | Blackout Redactions | Updated the redaction preview in Spreadsheet View to properly display partial cell redactions. In Preview mode, cells with partial redactions now show exactly how they will appear when printed or produced. Redaction labels for partial cells have been updated to include spaces and brackets around the label—for example, a label of Redacted will now display as “ [Redacted] “ to clearly indicate the redacted portion. |
Update | Field Profiles | Added the ability for users with the Manage Field Profile permission to control Fixed Fields at the profile level. Administrative users can now define the default view for new projects, including access to specific field profiles and which fixed fields are visible to each user. Users with the Manage Field Profiles permission will see a new Fixed tab in the modal, displaying all fixed fields in a grid. |
Update | Hit Reports | Enhanced the Hit Report Results page to display relevant metadata, including Job Name, Source, Search Profile, Total Unique Documents, Documents Without Hits, Documents Searched, Term Folders, Saved Searches, Field With Results, and Work Folders, making it easier to understand the context and scope of the report under Project Admin > Wordlists. |
Update | Indexing | Optimized data load performance by disabling auto-indexing for the “Extracted” text set. Previously, a high number of errors in this set was slowing down indexing and impacting overall throughput. Now, metadata is available for review right away, while text tokenization runs in the background as a non-blocking process for more efficient loads. |
Update | Import | Updated the system to correctly handle archive extraction when file extraction is disabled. Top-level archive files and child archive files will be extracted, while top-level non-archive files will not. For example, when uploading a ZIP file and an email with a child, the ZIP file will be extracted, while the email with a child will not be extracted. |
Update | Processing Settings | Updated the Processing Settings modal UI across the General, Numbering, and OCR tabs to improve usability and consistency across the platform. |
Update | Processing Settings | Added a new Sorting tab to the Processing Settings modal. |
Update | Searching and Filtering | Updated the UI to show “Is in List” by default when filtering by IDs. This is positioned at the top of the dropdown options, and now displays a count of the IDs entered in the textbox. |
Update | Timezone | Fixed a bug where date and time displayed in ASPX pages did not respect the end user’s time zone offset. |
Update | Uploads | Added the ability to create new items such as Custodian, Location, or Source directly from the Bulk Actions toolbar in the upload workflow. Users can now open a modal form to create a new item without leaving the page. Once saved, the new item is applied to all selected files and added to the list for future use, streamlining the workflow and saving time. |
Update | Uploads | The “Allow Duplicates” checkbox has been re-added to the Uploader job configuration in the Upload > Setup screen. This allows users to disable de-duplication for a single upload, overriding the project settings, which simplifies workflows for one-off jobs. |
Fix | Activity | Fixed an issue where the Activity Search field did not properly filter relevant columns when entering text and did not automatically revert to the original state unless the page was manually refreshed. |
Fix | Blackout Redactions | Rows and columns can now be expanded to fit text, making it easier to view and redact data. |
Fix | Blackout Redactions | Users can now delete multiple fully overlapping redactions at once, as well as partial overlaps. Previously, only the top redaction could be deleted when using the eraser tool. |
Fix | Document Viewer | Fixed an issue in Database Update Job Setup where the selected Spreadsheet Set wasn’t being retained. Now, when reopening the job, the selected Spreadsheet Set stays selected instead of resetting to “Select.” Also, when a PDF Set and Spreadsheet Set share the same name, choosing the Spreadsheet Set is no longer overridden by the PDF Set. |
Fix | Document Viewer | Addressed an issue where users could not switch from the Audio/Video view to the Transcription view within the Document Viewer for transcribed A/V files. The text set selection dropdown would not allow selection of the Transcription view. |
Fix | Document Viewer | Fixed an issue where Firefox would not display documents in Native View (PDF). |
Fix | Document Viewer | Fixed an issue where, if a document lacked a native (PDF) view, the Document Viewer would switch to OCR/Loaded view and stay in that view for subsequent documents—even when those documents had a native view and the user’s Default View was set to Native (PDF). |
Fix | Document Viewer | The “Extracted” view now correctly points to the extracted text file instead of the native file in the Document Viewer. |
Fix | Dashboard | Fixed a bug where the Predictive Score chart remained visible on the Review dashboard even after the AI model and tags were deleted from the database. |
Fix | Environment | Resolved an issue where jobs would not enter the finalizing stage when picked up by other agents. |
Fix | Export Jobs | Fixed a bug on the Export Jobs page where the Documents section displayed incorrect labels. The section now shows the correct fields: Documents Total, Native Files, and OCR Files. |
Fix | Export Jobs | A bug on the Export Jobs page where attempting to download a completed export job resulted in an “Unable to download export job” error was fixed. |
Fix | Export | Resolved an issue where loose MSG files would be exported with a blank or partially populated native email body when the “Apply to Loose/Attached Email” option was selected and the export format was set to MSG. |
Fix | Export | Fixed an issue where fillable PDF forms appeared blank or improperly rendered in Native View and native exports, despite displaying correctly when downloaded from Discovery Manager. PDFs now render all form data correctly in the document viewer. |
Fix | Export | Corrected an issue where duplicate names and email addresses appeared in the TO and CC fields when processing emails. |
Fix | Export | Resolved an issue where emails with password-protected ZIP attachments did not populate the “Attachment Name” or “Attachment Count” metadata fields during processing. |
Fix | Export | Fixed an issue where exporting RSMF data failed due to a null timestamp casting error. Exports now completes successfully without datetime casting errors. |
Fix | Export | Fixed an issue in production export jobs where documents with a valid OCR path were incorrectly flagged with the error “Unable to combine OCR PDF pages. Error: File not found.” Documents with an OCR path in the database now export correctly and continue to appear in the viewer as expected. |
Fix | Export | Fixed a bug where parent-child exports for a specific RSMF dataset were completing with errors. |
Fix | Export | Addressed a bug where, in certain scenarios, exporting the same RSMF data multiple times caused chat child items to not be properly deduplicated, resulting in them being exported again. This led to attachments being grouped together as families but missing the parent 24 chunk. |
Fix | Export | Fixed a bug where a Production Export failed when the “Export only in a saved search” option was selected. |
Fix | Filtering | Updated the system to address a bug where excluding file extensions in Web or Distributed processing caused those files to be omitted entirely during processing. |
Fix | Filtering | Corrected an issue where a second scroll bar appeared when filtering certain fields, requiring users to scroll to the bottom to access the Cancel and Add To Search buttons. |
Fix | Field Profiles | Resolved an issue where adding or updating field views through Manage Field Profiles did not reflect in the dashboard grid. |
Fix | Folders | Resolved a bug where the Update Counts on the Folders page would not update accordingly even though the “Update Counts on Search” toggle was enabled. |
Fix | Import | Fixed an issue where import jobs would get stuck when the dataset contained executable (.exe) files. Import jobs now detect and skip .exe files for extraction, without executing them, allowing the job to proceed and complete as expected with proper logging and reporting. |
Fix | Import | An issue where the agent would fall off a processing job while some tasks were still in progress was fixed. Jobs now automatically recover by reassigning the agent and continuing processing when a task gets stuck. |
Fix | Import | An issue where certain PDF files did not extract specific metadata fields, such as Created Date or Bucket, even though processing reported success, has been fixed. PDF files will now either have their metadata extracted correctly or report an error if extraction is not possible. |
Fix | Import | Resolved an issue where PDF image imports using OPT or LFP files completed without reporting errors, even though not all document images were successfully imported. Import jobs now properly log and display errors when images fail to import. |
Fix | Import | Corrected an issue where text from embedded emails in Word documents was not being extracted to the parent file. |
Fix | Import | Fixed an issue where inserting a file into the “processingStatus” table failed silently without error handling. |
Fix | Indexing | A bug where multiple native auto-indexing jobs were being generated but were not executed against any documents was addressed. |
Fix | Indexing | Updated the indexing workflow so that the RMSF view is no longer available as an option in the Text Set settings. |
Fix | Jobs | Resolved an issue where clicking the “View Jobs” toast link redirected users to the new React jobs pages, which were incomplete and showed incorrect values. Users are now correctly redirected to the ASPX jobs pages when clicking the toast link. |
Fix | Native Preview | Fixed an issue where text files were opening in Preview for PST children even when MSG files had been exported to review. Now the system follows the proper order—MSG first, MHT, then TXT. |
Fix | Native View (PDF) | Addressed a bug where .txt file extensions displayed incorrectly in Native View, with text appearing cut off at the first text column on the right side of the page. The same files displayed correctly in Grid View. |
Fix | Native View (PDF) | Fixed an issue where certain PDF files could not consistently be viewed in the Viewer’s Native tab. The native view now opens correctly the first time, and navigation between documents using the arrows no longer causes the error: “The Native View for this document was not found. Confirm that the index for the Native View has been run for this document.” |
Fix | Native View (PDF) | Fixed an issue where the native PDF viewer displayed an additional header line that was not present in the imaged version of the same file. |
Fix | OCR | Fixed an issue where running an OCR job with the “Generate Missing Images” option on documents without images would cause errors. Some documents would incorrectly show a “File not found” error despite having a valid Exported Native File value. |
Fix | Processing Overview | Fixed an issue in the Processing Overview grid where applying filters, such as Project Name or Date, did not update pagination or the total job count, which resulted in empty pages showing “No results.” |
Fix | Processing Jobs | Incorrect source file count would appear on the Processing Jobs page when using a template that excludes certain file extensions. This issue has been fixed, and the source file count now displays correctly. |
Fix | Processing Jobs | Fixed a bug where the Job Details page would show an incorrect User value for jobs submitted from web-created projects. The User field now displays the actual submitting user, and “Submitted from Discovery Manager” appears only for jobs created directly in Discovery Manager. The UI formatting was also corrected so labels and field values are no longer displayed in bold. |
Fix | Processing Grid | Corrected an issue where exported Excel files always sorted in ascending order, regardless of the user’s selection. Excel exports now respect the fields configured under Sort by Fields and the sort direction (ascending or descending) chosen by the user. |
Fix | Processing Grid | Fixed a bug where exported Excel files ignored custom sort fields and were always sorted by File ID. |
Fix | Processing Grid | Fixed an issue in the Processed Files grid where documents appeared out of order because the Family ID field was missing. The Family ID field has been added as a default column between Parent ID and File Name. |
Fix | Processing Grid | Corrected an issue where the Native Email File Type parameter was not respected in Promote to Review jobs. Natives are now exported using the correct file type (.MSG) as specified in the Processing template, instead of defaulting to .MHT. |
Fix | Processing Grid | Fixed an issue in Promote to Review where using an existing job name caused infinite loading. The system now also prevents submission of duplicate job names and displays a clear validation message: “A Promote to Review job with this name already exists. Please use a different job name.” |
Fix | Processing Grid | Addressed an issue where the “Created By” and “Notes” fields would not display on Saved Search modal. |
Fix | Processing Grid | Resolved a bug where expanding a previous search from Search History resulted in a TypeError. Search details now display correctly when a previous search is expanded. |
Fix | Processing Grid | Resolved an issue in the Processed Files grid where the selection limit warning message overlapped the pagination range text, reducing readability. |
Fix | Processing Grid | Fixed a bug where an Export (Promote to Review) job showed the wrong error message when it failed. When all files are excluded from an upload based on Processing Template settings, the export fails as expected, but the system previously showed an incorrect message about load file processing instead of indicating that no files were available for export. |
Fix | Processing Grid | Updated the Bulk Action > Export Documents modal in Processing / Processed Files to reduce the number of available sort fields and align them with the current set supported in Discovery Manager. |
Fix | Processing Grid | Fixed a bug where data from a Review Overlay export initiated from the Processed Files grid wasn’t updating in the Review grid. |
Fix | Production | Fixed an issue where production jobs stalled for up to 2 hours and failed due to document timeouts. Document timeouts are now logged for individual documents, so the production job can complete successfully and record all successfully produced documents. |
Fix | Production | Corrected a bug in PDF production where email images were skewed to the right, with text narrowing into a single vertical column, causing excessive page generation. |
Fix | Production Export | Resolved a bug where Production Export Jobs could not be deleted. |
Fix | Production Export | Fixed a bug where Production Exports were timing out before completion. |
Fix | Production Export | Corrected an issue where Production Export jobs were automatically canceled when the selected Production Job was configured to use a PDF Set selected for images. The export would start and then terminate without displaying an error message. |
Fix | Production Export | Fixed an issue where Concordance .dat and .opt files weren’t being generated in Production Exports, even when the correct options and fields were selected. The export would complete successfully with no error messages. |
Fix | Production Export | Resolved an issue where selecting “See Details” on completed Production Export jobs would display the error: "There was an error loading the production setting. Please try again or contact customer service for additional information." |
Fix | Promote to Review | Fixed a bug where the Start time in the Promote to Review grid did not match the Start time on the Job Details page, causing a one-hour discrepancy. |

Fix | Project Admin | A bug where the Default Template option would not appear in the project for slip sheet templates was fixed. |
Fix | Project Admin | Corrected an issue where the Support button in Project Admin directed users to the wrong site. |
Fix | Addressed an issue where stamping did not function correctly when printing a document from the document viewer. | |
Fix | Resolved a bug where, when printing or downloading a document stamped with the Begin or Bates number, the number appeared in the Top Right corner even if “Bottom Right” was selected. | |
Fix | Review Grid | Fixed a bug where duplicate IDs did not appear in the Reveal Review grid, even though the overlay data matched the "Duplicate Id" values in import_documents. |
Fix | Review Grid | Users can now successfully send documents via email. When the recipient clicks the link, it navigates to the grid with a search pill added to locate the specific document. |
Fix | Review Grid | Fixed an issue where increasing the number of documents from 25 to 30 in the Grid View pop-up caused a React error. |
Fix | Review Grid | Fixed an issue where metadata values in the Grid were not populated while using the horizontal scroll bar until scrolling stopped. Additionally, metadata values would not populate on the next Grid page if the horizontal scroll bar was not returned to the far left before navigating. |
Fix | Review Manager | Fixed an issue where PDF files imported using an LFP load file failed to image and returned the error “OtherError, Took too long to process, cancelled after 25m.” |
Fix | Review Manager | Fixed a bug where users were unable to create new fields in Review Manager. |
Fix | Review Manager | Resolved a bug where Family Groups were not building after loading documents, performing indexing, and completing AI Doc Sync. Users were also unable to see family members in the Document View following this workflow. |
Fix | Reports | Fixed an issue in the report filtering logic where selecting the “Document Foldered” action filter individually incorrectly returned “No records to display.” |
Fix | Saved Search | Resized the Saved Search comment window so users can view long comments in full without needing to edit the search. |
Fix | Security Timeout | Fixed an issue where the application entered a continuous loading loop after a timeout period. |
Fix | Search Profiles | Corrected an issue where search profiles with no fields selected and body search disabled would still return results. Now, only search profiles with at least one field selected or text enabled can be saved and used in searches. |
Fix | Spreadsheet View | Fixed a bug where images would get cut off in the full-view modal within spreadsheet view. Images are displayed fully and users can scroll to see entire charts when needed. |
Fix | Sorting | Updated the appearance of sortable list items. |
Fix | Term List Search | Resolved an issue where, after creating a Term List and selecting the “After saving, open Hit Reports in a new tab” option, clicking Save would not redirect to the Wordlist page and instead displayed an error message saying “Hit Report URL Not Found.” |
Fix | Tag Profiles | Fixed an issue where the tag profile and structure were displayed incorrectly when tagging selected text within a transcript folder. Blank tags appeared that did not reflect the actual tag profile, and selecting these blank tags generated “ghost tags.” |
Fix | Tags | Fixed an issue where added tag panels would not save correctly in Tag Profiles. Moving items from the left-hand side to the right now saves and updates properly, without delays, and unwanted items are no longer added. |
Fix | Tags | Fixed an issue where users would receive an “Insert Failed” error when attempting to use the Add Tag and Choices feature. |
Fix | Templates | Fixed an issue where Embedded Object selections were not correctly applied from Discovery Manager templates when creating a new project via the Web option. |
Fix | Uploader | Fixed an issue where uploaded files and custodian metadata would appear in a different project when the user navigated away during an upload or import. |
Fix | Uploads | Corrected a bug where the web Uploader overlay only recognized 3,500 documents out of approximately 2.5 million entries in the DAT file, preventing the full dataset from being processed. |
Fix | Uploads | Fixed a bug where a Processing job would not be created when an upload contained files with excluded signatures. |
Fix | Uploader | Updated the percentage complete calculation to be based on file sizes rather than file counts to match the Upload Manager and give a clearer view of completion. |
