Calculate Monthly Consumption Rate

  1. Download your usage history for the past 60–90 days from the Instance Stats dashboard.

  2. Identify the reporting dates.

  3. Record the consumption reported on the first day of the month.

  4. Subtract this value from the consumption reported on the last day of the same month. The result is your estimated monthly consumption rate.

Important

Due to contractual differences, statistics may be delayed by 24–48 hours and differ from final invoices.

Calculate Potential Overages

To monitor or estimate potential overages, compare your actual monthly consumption rate against your contracted monthly consumption allowance. Any usage beyond your contracted allowance for translation and/or transcription services will be invoiced as overages at the rate defined in your subscription.

If you are unsure of your contracted consumption or applicable translation/transcription overage rates, review your contract or contact your Customer Success Manager (CSM) for assistance.

Example Calculations

Disclaimer: The following calculations are provided for illustrative purposes only. They are not representative of any specific contracted subscription terms, rates, or allowances. For subscription-specific details, refer to the applicable contract or reach out to your Customer Success Manager.

Translation Service

Example Figures

  • Contracted monthly translation consumption: 1,000,000 characters

  • Consumption on June 1: 4,500,000 characters

  • Consumption on June 30: 5,750,000 characters

  • Translation overage rate: $X per million characters

Value

Example Calculation

Monthly Consumption Rate

MCR = [Consumption on last day of the month] – [Consumption on first day of the month]

MCR = 5,750,000 – 4,500,000

MCR = 1,250,000 characters

Overage

O = [Monthly consumption rate] – [Contracted monthly translation consumption]

O = 1,250,000 – 1,000,000

O = 250,000 characters

Estimated Overage Cost

EOC = ( [Overage] ÷ [Contracted monthly translation consumption] ) × [Translation overage rate]

EOC = (250,000 ÷ 1,000,000) × $X

EOC = 0.25 × $X

Transcription Service

Example Figures

  • Contracted monthly transcription consumption: 100 hours

  • Actual monthly usage: 115 hours

  • Transcription overage rate: $Y per hour

Value

Example Calculation

Overage

O = [Actual monthly usage] – [Contracted monthly transcription consumption]

O = 115 – 100

O = 15 hours

Estimated Overage Cost

EOC = [Overage] × [Transcription overage rate]

EOC = 15 × $Y
