Ask Allocations*: Instance administrators can now view the total number of Ask questions across the instance, as well as the number of Ask questions for each project in the Allocations section.
Ask Indexing*: ASK can now use the full document text within the maximum supported document size, including metadata and boilerplate text. This expands the content available to ASK when finding relevant information and generating responses.
Ask on a Document*: ASK on a Document now respects user permissions, ensuring users can access and interact with document content based on their assigned permissions.
aji
aji Partial Ratings: Partial Aji ratings are now available in the Review Grid when an Aji job is cancelled or fails, allowing users to access ratings that were completed before the job stopped.
AI Sync
Brainspace settings can now be configured per project, allowing users to customize entity extraction, analytics features, and thresholds for incremental or full builds instead of relying on MSA-level settings.
Aspose Email Engine*
Aspose introduces a new email processing engine for files such as PSTs and MSGs, providing a modern alternative to MAPI. It captures key email metadata, including “sent on behalf of” information and conversation threads, and supports the recovery of deleted emails. The processing engine is selected when a project is created and cannot be changed after project creation.
Field Management
Admins can now create and manage review fields directly in the web app, reducing the need to use Review Manager. The new Fields page supports creating, editing, and filtering fields, building and managing pick-list fields and their choices, adding custom fields from Review, assigning multilingual display names, managing field profiles, and controlling whether fields can be edited during review.

PROC-8655 | Update | Reveal Upload Manager | Updated the metadata preservation workflow in Reveal Upload Manager to include the Document Date field. Document Date now uses preserved metadata dates when the workflow is utilized. |
PROC-8323 | Update | OCR | Added configurable file type filtering for OCR, allowing users to specify which file formats are eligible for OCR processing. File type selections can be configured in Project Settings, Processing Templates, and Bulk Job workflows, preventing unnecessary OCR of unsupported or irrelevant file types such as PST containers and providing greater control over OCR processing. |
RENT-15819 | Update | Tags | Improved bulk tag removal to make selecting and removing multiple tags easier. Checkboxes are now available at every tag level, allowing users to select individual tags or entire groups at once. Parent checkboxes show whether some or all options are selected, and switching between Add and Remove clears previous selections so users can start fresh. |
RENT-24917 | Update | Jobs | Improved Bulk Update job status reporting so jobs remain In Progress until all search index updates are finished, ensuring changes appear in Grid and Search when a job is marked Complete. A “Performing index updates — X pending” message now shows progress while indexing finishes. |
RENT-23052 | Update | Production | Redacted spreadsheets are now generated during the Production job workflow instead of the export process, making them available in the Document Viewer dropdown once the Production database update job completes. Users no longer need to run an export to access these files, and the job summary now includes a column showing whether a redacted spreadsheet was generated for each document. |
RENT-23449 | Update | Sorting | Tables now display numbered indicators next to the sort arrows when sorting by multiple columns, helping users identify which columns take priority. The numbers show which column is sorted first, second, and so on. These indicators only appear when multiple columns are used for sorting. |
RENT-21495 | Update | Advanced Search | You can now convert a term list directly into a Highlight List using the new Convert to Highlights button in the Search Terms modal, eliminating the need to recreate finalized search terms manually. Users can choose whether to validate the terms, set the list name and team access, and customize the background and text colors. They can also preview the terms and highlight settings before saving. Once created, the list appears on the Highlights page and is immediately available for highlighting matching text in documents, without requiring a refresh or logging out. |
RENT-19670 | Update | Export | Added the option to select a Field Profile and choose which fields to include directly in the Fields tab under Review Grid > Export Documents. Users can select all or specific fields from their chosen profile, eliminating the need to close the export window and change the active Field Profile in the Review Grid. |
RENT-22915 | Update | Export | Introduced Quick Grid Export, allowing users to download document data directly from the Review Grid as a CSV file without going through the full export process. The export includes the current search results, filters, visible columns, and column order, with options to export all documents or only selected ones. Exports of up to 10,000 rows download directly, while larger exports automatically run as jobs. Users can also choose to receive a notification when the export is complete or close the export window to continue the export as a job. The existing export workflow remains available for customized exports. |
PROC-9555 | Fix | Archives | Addressed a bug where deleting large custodian archives would cause processing delays and block other operations in the project. Archive cleanup has now been optimized to reduce processing time and database locking. |
PROC-8373 | Fix | Archives | Corrected a bug where archive files with a previous failed extraction status remained stuck with ExtractionStatus = 1 during re-imports, causing extraction to be skipped and stale errors to appear in import snapshots even when the overall import job succeeded. During re-import, archive extractions now reset their extraction status to 0, retry extraction, and process successfully instead of being silently bypassed. |
RENT-24113 | Fix | Activity | Addressed an issue where applying a date range filter on the Activity page would not update the activity log table or display the active filter tag beneath the search bar. |
RENT-23782 | Fix | Advanced Search | Corrected a bug where selecting the “Has Redactions” field in Advanced Search would open an empty dropdown with no available options. The dropdown now displays all available values. |
RENT-25973 | Fix | Document Viewer | Fixed an issue where rapid navigation using Save & Next would cause the Document Viewer to remain on the previous document while the Tags and relational panels advanced to the next one, potentially applying tags to the wrong document. The Document Viewer, Tags panel, and Duplicates, Family, and Thread panels now remain synchronized during navigation. Save & Next and tagging actions are also temporarily disabled while the next document loads. |
RENT-25434 | Fix | Document Viewer | Addressed a bug where cell-level redactions in Spreadsheet View would fail on text cells when Excel sheet names contained leading or trailing spaces, while redactions on image cells continued to work. Redactions can now be applied correctly to both text and image cells. Additionally, selecting multiple or non-contiguous cell ranges using Ctrl or Alt no longer triggers an “Invalid Range” error, allowing users to apply redactions without interrupting their work. |
RENT-24044 | Fix | Document Viewer | An issue where the field widget in the Document Viewer would not expand after navigating to a near-duplicate document through the Near Duplicates relational pane has been resolved. |
RENT-23978 | Fix | Document Viewer | An issue where the Australian Native PDF text set would not appear in the Document Viewer text set dropdown despite indexing successfully has been resolved. Users can now select the Australian Native PDF text set and view its content in the Document Viewer as expected. |
RENT-23279 | Fix | Document Viewer | An issue where Excel spreadsheets displayed in Native View would show missing cell data or formula errors such as “#REF!” and “#VALUE!” instead of the actual content has been resolved. Spreadsheet rendering has been improved to use the full worksheet data range, ensuring content displays correctly in Native View. |
RENT-23867 | Fix | Document Viewer | Fixed a bug in the Document Viewer where selecting a document on page 2 or later in the Family Members pane for families with more than 25 attachments would reset the pane to page 1 and leave the bold highlight on the initially opened document. The pane now stays on the page containing the selected document, and the page indicator and bold highlight correctly reflect the document being viewed. |
RENT-22046 | Fix | Document Viewer | A bug where comments in Word documents displayed in Native View PDF would be cut off or not fully expanded due to page margin limitations has been resolved. A new Comments dropdown in the Word processing settings allows administrators to choose whether to append comments to the end of the document, including author details, timestamps, and replies, or omit them entirely. |
RENT-24080 | Fix | Document Viewer | Corrected a bug where documents would open in a background browser tab, leaving the mini viewer unresponsive until that tab was closed. The Document Viewer now automatically comes into focus when opened, and selecting another document updates the existing viewer tab. |
RENT-24219 | Fix | Document Viewer | Corrected a bug where Native (PDF) and Image views would fail to load for newly imported or promoted documents, even when indexing jobs reported success. Duplicate indexing results caused by repeated email-processing errors are now handled correctly. |
RENT-23484 | Fix | Document Viewer | Fixed a bug where numeric and date values in spreadsheets would appear as “###########” in Native View and Image View when they exceeded the source column width. Columns now adjust to fit the content, so reviewers can see the full values. |
RENT-23643 | Fix | Dashboard | Filter dropdowns on the Case Insights dashboard now display available options immediately when opened, even after switching between projects. Previously, dropdowns such as All Entities, Extension, and Custodian would incorrectly display “NO DATA FOUND” until users typed in the search box or reopened the dropdown. |
RENT-23855 | Fix | Dashboard | Resolved an issue where exporting domain records from the Dashboard Domains widget would only include up to 1,000 records or the records displayed on the current page. The export now includes all domain records for the project, regardless of the number of records or pages. |
PROC-9192 | Fix | Export | Resolved a bug where CreateCloudIndexingJob failed with a SQL syntax error when a project or export job name contained an apostrophe. Cloud indexing jobs now process successfully. |
PROC-8841 | Update | Export | Improved the QC process to prevent potential missing text files by updating how existing text files are handled during text re-extraction. Text extraction during QC now completes successfully while maintaining reliable text file availability. |
PROC-8271 | Fix | Export | Fixed a bug where the export engine crashed during BegDoc collision detection when processing hyphenated BegDoc values. Exports using custom prefixes with Review BegDocs containing hyphenated suffixes now complete successfully without errors. |
PROC-9135 | Fix | Export | Corrected an issue where the SHAHASH export field would contain incorrect values. When SHA256 hashing is enabled, exported SHAHASH values and the corresponding SQL SHAHASH field now contain valid 64-character SHA256 hashes without file extensions. |
RENT-23474 | Fix | Export | Fixed an issue where imported attachment documents would receive incorrect Master Dates that did not match their parent documents. |
PROC-7867 | Fix | Export | Fixed a bug in the Upload module where the Custodian, Location, and Source dropdowns would occasionally close immediately after being clicked. |
PROC-10070 | Fix | Export | Fixed an issue where Export jobs would repeatedly fail with a database conflict error if a previous export was interrupted or failed. Residual export tables and views are now cleaned up automatically, allowing affected exports to complete successfully on retry. |
PROC-8874 | Fix | Export | Fixed an issue where Review export jobs could fail during finalization with an Invalid column name 'OCRLOADEDSOURCE' error. Export finalization now checks that the OCR metadata column exists before updating it, allowing exports to complete successfully when the column is not available. |
PROC-9065 | Fix | Export | Fixed an issue where concurrent export jobs within the same project could assign duplicate or overlapping BegDoc (Bates) number ranges. When multiple exports run at the same time, each one now waits for the previous export to finish initializing before receiving its own sequential numbering range. |
PROC-8971 | Fix | Export | Fixed an issue where exporting certain loose email attachments or embedded datasets processed with Aspose would incorrectly log a “The MailMessage is corrupted” error in Error Explorer during Review (Append) or Parent-Child exports. Affected exports now complete without reporting false corruption errors. |
PROC-9505 | Fix | Export | Fixed an issue where exporting Lotus Notes (NSF) files configured with Item Level DXL handling and native files enabled would fail at completion with a “NATIVES MISSING FROM EXPORT” error. Child native files are now correctly copied and accounted for during the export process, allowing NSF Item Level DXL exports to complete successfully with all expected native files included in the export package. |
PROC-10116 | Fix | Export | Resolved an issue where Review-Append exports would experience significant delays during initialization, particularly in large projects. The export process now retrieves documents more efficiently and avoids repeatedly processing previously reviewed records. |
RENT-24317 | Fix | Export | CSV metadata exports from the Review Grid no longer display the internal value “Produce” instead of the configured “Not Privileged” tag label. Exports now use the configured tag labels. |
PROC-9864 | Fix | Export | Fixed an issue where errors during load file generation would leave calculated metadata fields, including dates, email fields, attachment lists, and relative paths, missing from the exported load file while the job still reported as successful. Calculated metadata is now populated correctly, and critical load file failures are properly logged and move the export job to an Errored state. |
PROC-9711 | Fix | Export | Fixed an issue where Australian Protocol Review Append exports using project-level deduplication would promote duplicate files to Review when the original files had already been promoted. Review Append exports now correctly identify and exclude previously promoted duplicates. |
RENT-24944 | Fix | Export | Improved DAT and CSV load file generation performance for large metadata-only exports. Previously, exporting millions of documents with only a few metadata fields would take several hours, even when no native, image, or text files were included. Load file writing has been optimized to reduce processing times for large exports without affecting exports that include additional metadata or document files. |
PROC-9194 | Fix | Export | Corrected a bug where Processing export jobs would fail to generate DAT load files due to invalid or duplicated file paths, including paths containing semicolons. This would occur when an export was paused, resumed, or retried, causing file paths to be incorrectly combined. Export jobs now retain and interpret file paths correctly. |
PROC-8828 | Fix | ECA | Fixed an issue where archive files would be promoted from Processed Files to ECA. Archives now remain in Processed Files, while only eligible non-archive files are promoted to ECA. |
PROC-8620 | Fix | ECA | Fixed an issue where Promote to ECA jobs completed successfully, but promoted files and their auto-triggered indexing jobs were not reflected in the Web Project interface. Indexing jobs and promoted files now appear correctly in the Processing Index Jobs page, Processed Files grid, and ECA grid. |
PROC-8682 | Fix | ECA | Resolved an issue where promoting large document sets from the Processed Files grid to ECA would fail with a “Communication with the server failed” error. Large document sets can now be promoted to ECA successfully. |
PROC-9988 | Fix | Environment | Stopped or unresponsive processing agents no longer remain assigned to active jobs instead of returning to the available agent pool. Agents that have not sent a heartbeat for 10 minutes or longer are now automatically unassigned, clearing outdated job assignments without affecting actively running agents. |
PROC-8747 | Fix | Filtering | Added the missing filter option to the Dupe Id field, allowing users to filter it like other ID-related fields. The field name was also updated from Dupeid to Dupe Id for consistency. |
RENT-19810 | Fix | Field Profiles | Resolved an issue where deleting a selected field profile would cause errors in Reveal Review, preventing users from accessing the document grid or viewing field values. The grid now automatically switches to the default field profile when the selected profile is deleted. Default field profiles also cannot be deleted until another profile is set as the default. |
RENT-25513 | Fix | Fields | Resolved an issue where Native and Image views would fail across an entire project when a field designated as a native file field contained an apostrophe or other special characters in its display name. |
RENT-23925 | Fix | Folders | Fixed a visual issue in the Hit Report’s Select Work Folder dialog where work folder names containing single or double quotation marks would not display correctly. Quotation marks now appear as entered in the folder name. |
PROC-10336 | Fix | Import | Fixed an issue where importing the same dataset with identical settings would produce different document counts because large archives were sometimes only partially processed without reporting an error. Archive processing now completes consistently without interrupting active work, ensuring all documents are imported. If an archive cannot be fully processed, the job now displays a clear error indicating that documents are missing. |
PROC-10287 | Fix | Import | Files from deleted imports no longer remain visible in the Processed Files panel after being removed from Discovery Manager. Deletion cleanup now retries failed attempts, with improved diagnostic logging, while Re-Index All Files removes outdated index entries for files that no longer exist in the database. Index rebuilds have also been improved to prevent timeouts in large projects, ensuring deleted files are correctly removed from the Processed Files panel. |
PROC-10253 | Fix | Import | Resolved an issue where Family MasterDate values were incorrectly populated with dates from documents belonging to other families during import, resulting in inaccurate dates in Review and production exports. |
PROC-10160 | Fix | Import | Fixed an issue where importing password-protected archives into MAPI projects would trigger an “Actual/Expected Child Count Mismatch” error in Discovery Manager’s Error Explorer because no child files were extracted. This error no longer appears for password-protected archives, but still appears when there is an actual mismatch in the number of child files. |
PROC-10460 | Fix | Import | Resolved an issue where .msg emails containing missing address values would fail text extraction when processed with the MAPI engine, preventing them from being reprocessed through QC. Missing values are now handled correctly, allowing affected emails and their attachments to process successfully, with extracted text available in the Selective Set UI. |
PROC-9693 | Fix | Import | Corrected an Aspose import issue where 29 message-type documents in the Benchmark set were incorrectly flagged as ZERO KB during Import QC. The affected documents, which contain valid size and content, now process successfully without being incorrectly identified as zero-size items. |
PROC-8577 | Fix | Import | Improved PST/RDO import processing to prevent failures when merging staged email participants for messages containing unsupported or inaccessible attachments. |
PROC-9185 | Fix | Import | Fixed a bug where importing the Golden Dataset filetypes dataset would fail during MD5 hash generation with an “Invalid handle” error. File imports now complete successfully, MD5 hashes are generated correctly, and a corresponding record is created in the Files table for each imported item. |
PROC-9075 | Fix | Import | Fixed a bug where stale 250-character Project Path validation would block child extraction even when the ProcessingStatus.ProjectPath column supported unlimited length. Project path validation now correctly handles longer paths during extraction workflows. |
PROC-7842 | Fix | Import | Resolved an issue where an empty ZIP attachment caused subsequent empty attachments to be incorrectly categorized as archive/ZIP files. Empty attachments are now categorized correctly, regardless of previously processed empty ZIP attachments. |
PROC-8854 | Fix | Import | Resolved an issue where imports were becoming stuck during the Dupe Propagation stage. The import process now completes without generating the previously encountered error messages, allowing customers to successfully import files into Discovery Manager. |
PROC-8576 | Fix | Import | Fixed a bug where import jobs would fail with a NullReferenceException (“Object reference not set to an instance of an object”). Import jobs now complete successfully without triggering this error. |
PROC-2514 | Fix | Import | Corrected an issue where importing an MSG email containing a ZIP attachment with a TXT file would result in a File Recon Error being displayed in the graph. |
PROC-9447 | Fix | Import | Fixed an Aspose-specific issue where email attachments and archive children would receive invalid file extensions containing portions of their parent container path. File extensions now correctly derive from the child file name. |
PROC-9424 | Fix | Import | Resolved a bug where the Aspose email engine would not populate the ConversationTopic for emails where the thread topic was available. |
PROC-9418 | Fix | Import | Fixed an issue where the Aspose email engine would not populate SentOnBehalfOf for emails sent on behalf of another user. The delegate/sender name is now captured when available, aligning Aspose email metadata with MAPI. |
PROC-4927 | Fix | Import | Fixed an issue where encrypted multipart ZIP files would not extract during Import or QC, even when the required password was available in the Password Bank. |
PROC-4712 | Fix | Import | Added support for identifying and extracting soft-deleted emails from PST files using Aspose during Import, including the recovery of their associated metadata and text for processing and review. |
PROC-9900 | Fix | Import | Fixed a text extraction reporting defect in the Aspose engine where PST child items arriving as email attachments were left in a pending extraction status with 0 byte size. Status tracking now correctly maps to child items, restoring full text indexing and accurate carrier message sizes. |
PROC-8817 | Fix | Import | Addressed an issue where importing multi-segment AD1 forensic image archives could fail to extract documents or leave the import job stuck In Progress. AD1 segments are now processed in the correct sequence while unrelated files in the source directory are ignored. If an archive is incomplete or a required segment is missing, the import now fails with a clear error instead of remaining stalled. |
PROC-9127 | Fix | Import | Resolved an issue where the Aspose email engine would set the BodyFormat metadata field to Unspecified for processed emails. Aspose now correctly identifies and records the email body format as Plain Text, HTML, or RTF, providing consistent email metadata with MAPI. |
PROC-8228 | Fix | Import | Optimized backend domain refresh routines (u_DomainRefresh) during data import and processing to reduce database locking and query execution times. This prevents session blocking when processing large datasets and improves concurrent project processing. |
PROC-8634 | Fix | Import | Resolved an issue where processing identical email datasets with Aspose and MAPI would produce different total document counts, including when Extract Embedded Objects was enabled. Document extraction and counting are now aligned across both email processing engines, resulting in consistent Total Docs counts. |
PROC-9575 | Fix | Import | Resolved an issue where certain reply emails with attachments in the Sent Items folder would have missing metadata when processing PST files with Aspose. Aspose now creates EmailMetaData records for all Sent Items messages, consistent with MAPI, with Subject, Date Received, and participant information correctly populated for reply messages. |
PROC-9178 | Fix | Import | Fixed a bug where the Aspose email processing engine would intermittently fail to extract embedded objects from Excel files with Chinese filenames, resulting in missing child documents compared with MAPI processing. |
PROC-9849 | Fix | Import | Fixed an issue where duplicate files would not inherit the MasterDate from their master document after duplicate propagation completed, leaving ProjectDupe and CustodianDupe confirmation fields unset. Duplicate files now receive the correct MasterDate and duplicate status once propagation completes for the document family. |
PROC-9832 | Fix | Import | Addressed a bug where deleting a duplicate master document would incorrectly promote a nested child document as the new master, resulting in incorrect MasterDate values across related document families. Replacement master selection now prioritizes standalone family root documents, preserving the correct MasterDate and family relationships after deletion. |
PROC-9602 | Fix | Import | Fixed an issue where emoji characters in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF documents were replaced with unreadable or incorrect characters in Extracted Text, despite displaying correctly in the native file. Emoji characters are now preserved correctly during text extraction across DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, PDF, and EML files. |
PROC-9622 | Fix | Import | Fixed an issue where enabling Embedded Extraction would incorrectly route audio and video files through the presentation extraction process, resulting in unexpected “Unknown file format” errors during import. |
PROC-9325 | Fix | Import | Corrected a bug where importing TAR archives would generate an “Error extracting Tar file” error in Error Explorer despite the import completing successfully. |
PROC-9722 | Fix | Import | Fixed an issue where the Aspose email processing engine would intermittently omit or incorrectly decode the “ReceivedOnBehalfOf” and “SentOnBehalfOf” delegate metadata fields when processing emails using the MHT native file format or specific codepages. |
PROC-8834 | Fix | Import | Fixed an issue where native files for nested or duplicate child emails were not written to storage during PST import, resulting in “Native Not Found” or S3 404 errors during export. Native file validation and write handling have been updated to ensure these email items are stored correctly and exported with all expected native files. |
PROC-10151 | Fix | Import | Resolved an issue where the MAPI email processing engine would encounter OITEmailProcessor crashes when extracting certain container files, including OST and MBOX files. These crashes would result in skipped child attachments while the import was still marked as successful. Affected files now process without these crashes, ensuring their child attachments are extracted correctly. |
PROC-9960 | Fix | Import | Addressed an issue where nested archive containers, including VHDX and other disk image files, would enter an infinite expansion loop during import, causing jobs to stall without processing documents and generate excessive file records and storage usage. Archive processing now includes recursion depth limits, cycle detection, and self-reference checks to prevent runaway expansion and allow affected imports to complete successfully. |
PROC-9757 | Fix | Import | An issue where Import jobs would intermittently fail with a SQL 1205 deadlock error during finalization under heavy database contention has been resolved. Deadlock handling during duplicate propagation and hash updates has been improved so jobs can recover from temporary database conflicts and complete without requiring manual resumption. |
PROC-9884 | Fix | Import | Fixed an issue where multi-segment AD1 forensic image imports would silently drop child documents during extraction, resulting in Actual/Expected Child Count mismatches in Import QC. Extracted documents would also be assigned incorrect folder paths, with content from the archive collapsed into a single folder. AD1 imports now extract the expected child documents and preserve their correct folder paths. |
PROC-9701 | Fix | Import | Fixed an issue where valid TAR archives, would incorrectly return an “unknown tar format” error during processing. Nested archives now extract successfully as standalone files or email attachments, while extraction errors are reported only when the archive cannot be processed. |
PROC-9628 | Fix | Import | Archive and forensic image ingestion now handles processing failures more reliably for L01, GZIP/TAR.GZ, and 7-Zip files. Empty, corrupt, or password-protected files return clear processing and QC errors instead of unhandled system exceptions in Error Explorer. Soft-deleted PST items are also handled without interrupting the extraction of standard folders and email messages. |
PROC-9636 | Fix | Import QC | Previously cleared imports no longer show new QC exceptions after running subsequent OCR jobs or importing additional data. Processing has been updated to properly complete and track Language ID and OCR tasks while preserving cleared Import QC states. |
PROC-10236 | Fix | Import QC | Resolved an issue where text files attached to or embedded within PDF documents would be incorrectly flagged as “Unrecognized” in Import QC. |
PROC-9141 | Fix | Import QC | Resolved an issue in Discovery Manager where database contention or lock timeouts during custodian statistics calculations on large datasets would cause Import QC jobs to fail with a misleading transaction rollback error (SqlException 3903). |
PROC-7998 | Fix | Import QC | Fixed a bug where RSMF files generated from Microsoft Purview mobile data exports were incorrectly categorized as system files and reported as not-processable exceptions during QC, despite containing valid data. RSMF files are now correctly recognized and processed when their integrity is intact. |
RENT-25677 | Fix | Indexing | Fixed an issue where orphaned IMPORT_METADATA rows without a matching IMPORT_DOCUMENTS column would cause project-wide metadata indexing failures with a “Convert Failed” error. Metadata indexing now handles these orphaned rows without interrupting the indexing job. |
RENT-24377 | Fix | Indexing | Resolved a bug where Native View PDF indexing would time out when processing large Excel workbooks containing fonts unavailable on the indexing server. Spreadsheet conversion has been optimized to reduce excessive font substitution logging and improve processing performance, to allow large Excel workbooks to convert and index successfully without timing out. |
RENT-25917 | Fix | Indexing | Indexing jobs now continue when an Elasticsearch index is in Yellow status, as long as its primary shards are available. Previously, jobs would wait up to an hour for the status to turn Green before failing. |
PROC-8826 | Fix | Indexing | Addressed an issue where duplicate files were not promoted or indexed when promoting documents from Processed Files to ECA. Duplicate files are now promoted and indexed as separate files, while preventing the same file from being promoted more than once. |
PROC-8649 | Fix | Indexing | Addressed an issue where successfully indexed files continued to display as Not Indexed in the Processing Jobs dashboard after a Discovery Manager hosted Elasticsearch indexing job completed. Processing status now updates automatically when indexing finishes, ensuring the displayed document counts accurately reflect the indexing results. |
RENT-17289 | Fix | Indexing | Resolved an issue where Microsoft OneNote (.one) files would fail to generate a Native View PDF and display a “Could not load document” error. Text extraction has also been added for OneNote files, allowing their content to be indexed and searched while preserving page breaks and multilingual characters. |
RENT-23977 | Fix | Indexing | Fixed a bug where Excel workbooks containing tables with inconsistent range definitions would fail to index in Spreadsheet View. Excel workbooks containing these tables now index successfully and can be viewed in Spreadsheet View. |
PROC-8211 | Fix | Indexing | Corrected a bug where OCR text generated from jobs run in the Processed Files table was not automatically indexed, preventing it from being searchable. OCR text is now indexed upon job completion and available in search results. |
PROC-9055 | Fix | Indexing | Improved error reporting and retry handling during processing index creation. When index creation fails due to issues such as shard capacity limits or connectivity errors, the system now provides the specific root cause instead of a generic timeout message, making failures easier to diagnose and resolve. |
PROC-8560 | Fix | Jobs | Resolved an issue where the progress bar on the Reprocess Job Details page did not display or update automatically once a job started. The progress bar now updates in real time for In Progress, Paused, and Finalizing states without requiring a manual browser refresh. |
RENT-23140 | Fix | Jobs | Bulk Update jobs now report errors correctly when timeouts or unsupported field operations, such as queries using the Subject field, prevent changes from being saved to Elasticsearch. Previously, these jobs would appear to complete successfully even when updates were not saved. |
RENT-21764 | Fix | Jobs | Addressed an issue with transcription jobs involving files that exceed the supported size or duration limits. Transcription jobs now display a clear error when a file exceeds the 2 GB size limit or four-hour duration limit, so users know when to reduce the file size or duration before trying again. |
RENT-25611 | Fix | Jobs | Resolved an issue where Transcript Processing jobs would incorrectly report success with zero errors even when documents failed to process due to an “Index and length must refer to a location within the string” error. This prevented transcript words from being saved and the Native/HTML view from updating. |
RENT-22675 | Fix | Jobs | Fixed an issue where Image Labeling jobs would complete without processing documents or reporting errors when native files were missing. Affected documents are now recorded in the job error report with the message “No native file available for image labeling,” while documents with valid native files continue processing. |
RENT-18246 | Fix | Native View PDFs | Emojis in RSMF/Teams content and supported HTML and email files no longer appear in black and white or as empty boxes in Native View PDFs. Emojis now display in full color when the AsposeEmbedColorEmoji setting is enabled, which is the default. |
PROC-8378 | Fix | OCR | |
PROC-9630 | Fix | OCR | Improved OCR job status reporting for documents that fail processing due to oversized image dimensions, memory limitations, or processing timeouts. OCR jobs now accurately reflect file-level failures and provide clear error details, making it easier to identify which documents were not processed and why. |
RENT-25631 | Fix | OCR | Fixed an issue where Bulk OCR in Review would incorrectly recognize Korean and Japanese characters as Latin, Cyrillic, or Greek characters, resulting in garbled or unreadable text. OCR language support has been updated to correctly recognize Asian scripts, including Korean, Japanese, and Simplified and Traditional Chinese. Administrators can also specify individual languages through the OmniPageOcrLanguages system setting to improve text recognition accuracy. |
PROC-8778 | Fix | Processing | Optimized the INSERT/SELECT upsert pattern for RSMFParticipants to improve processing performance. |
PROC-9024 | Fix | Processing | Addressed a bug where X-axis labels in the Data Classes chart on the Processing Job Details page were truncated or overlapped, making some category names difficult to read. The chart now displays all X-axis labels clearly, regardless of label length or the number of categories. |

PROC-6799 | Fix | Processing | Fixed a bug where application metadata was not extracted from certain PDF files that were incorrectly identified as password protected. Metadata are now extracted when it is accessible. |
PROC-7628 | Fix | Processing | Resolved an issue that would cause processing project creation to fail with a “ClientId does not exist in processing” error, even when valid project and client information was provided. |
PROC-8913 | Fix | Processing | Fixed a bug where a multi-volume 7z archive contained within a ZIP file was not recognized and extracted correctly during processing. The split 7z archive parts were previously treated as separate loose files instead of being combined and extracted. The application now recognizes multi-part 7z archives inside ZIP containers, combines the archive volumes, extracts the contents, and processes the extracted files successfully. |
PROC-9616 | Fix | Processing | Improved Aspose processing to correctly extract the native ConversationIndex from PST emails where it was previously missing. This reduces discrepancies in ConversationIndex extraction between Aspose and MAPI. |
PROC-8209 | Fix | Processing | Fixed an issue where archives of NSF files were not extracted during processing. |
PROC-4301 | Fix | Processing | Fixed an issue where ScanPST would not repair certain corrupt PST files during processing, even when the files could be successfully repaired using ScanPST manually. |
PROC-8413 | Fix | Processing | Resolved an issue where processing HTML- or RTF-format emails from PST files would duplicate the email body text in the extracted text file, resulting in inflated file sizes and deduplication inconsistencies. Email body text is now extracted once based on the authoritative body format, while plain-text email processing remains unchanged. |
PROC-7922 | Fix | Processing | Resolved a memory issue that would cause processing to fail when handling PST files containing large volumes of Microsoft Teams chat and message data. Processing now handles memory more efficiently so the remaining tasks can continue if an individual task fails. |
PROC-10046 | Fix | Processing | When multiple passwords were entered on separate lines in the Password Bank, they were combined into a single value, causing only the first password to be recognized and subsequent decryption attempts to fail. Multi-line entries are now saved as distinct passwords and evaluated individually during processing and reprocessing, allowing protected files to be decrypted correctly. |
PROC-8890 | Fix | Processing | Processing now updates the “LastBatch” timestamp only for the machine actively processing a job batch. Previously, activity on one worker would update the timestamp for all registered processing machines, making it difficult to identify which machines were actually active. |
PROC-9737 | Fix | Processing | Fixed an issue where QC File Exception reprocessing would log a “System.NullReferenceException” during Aspose or MAPI text and metadata extraction when an email item could not be loaded. Unloaded email items are now skipped cleanly with a clear message, allowing QC reprocessing to complete without triggering the exception. |
RENT-23853 | Fix | Processing | An issue where Begin Number (BEGDOC) values were intermittently missing in Review after processing Teams Short Messages due to incorrect import-template field mappings has been resolved. Field mappings copied through Review Manager now match by field name rather than internal field ID. |
PROC-8231 | Fix | Processing | Optimized database operations during email processing and metadata extraction to improve performance for large, high-volume ingestion and processing jobs. Reduced query times and database load help email metadata process more efficiently while using fewer resources. |
PROC-9415 | Fix | Processing | Resolved a bug where processing certain PDF files would produce corrupted or non-standard characters in extracted metadata fields, including M-Title, M-Document Title, and M-Author. |
PROC-8244 | Fix | Processing | Optimized UpdateCustodianCount to improve overall processing performance. |
PROC-9244 | Fix | Processing | Addressed an issue where unassigning or deleting an import job would cause inconsistent information on the Source page, including incorrect document counts and Unassigned Custodian appearing as a clickable link. Document counts now accurately reflect the remaining project data. |
PROC-9246 | Fix | Processing | Fixed an issue where the selected PST/OST Handling format was not properly saved or displayed in the Promote to Review Job Details screen after job creation. |
RENT-7996 | New | Processing Jobs | Introduced an All Folders toggle in the Process Data modal for instance administrators, allowing them to switch between browsing the current project’s S3 bucket and the entire instance bucket. The instance-level view starts at the root folder, making it easier to access data across the entire instance. Switching between views clears any previous selections to provide a clean browsing experience |
PROC-9788 | Fix | Processing Jobs | Fixed an issue where the Processing Jobs grid would not show updated statuses and document counts until a job finished or the page was manually refreshed. The grid now updates automatically while jobs are running, allowing users to track document counts and import progress without refreshing the page. |
PROC-8915 | Fix | Processing Job | Resolved an issue where the Source Files column in the Processing Jobs grid displayed 0 for certain imports after Dupe Propagation completed. The correct source file count is now displayed for overlapping parent and sub-folder imports, as well as re-imports of the same dataset path. |
PROC-9159 | Fix | Processing Job | Addressed an issue where processing jobs could intermittently fail at startup with 0 documents processed due to a database conflict during internal task recovery. Processing jobs now handle these conflicts without terminating. |
PROC-9596 | Fix | Processing Job | Processing jobs now recover from temporary database lock contention or SQL deadlocks during batch fetching instead of immediately entering an Errored state with 0 documents processed. Import, QC, OCR, Indexing, and Export jobs automatically retry with increasing wait times, allowing processing to resume once the database contention clears. |
PROC-9880 | Fix | Processing Job | Improved Processing Jobs page performance for projects with large numbers of import jobs and files. Job statistics, including Source Files, Catalogued/Expanded, and Promoted counts, are now calculated more efficiently, allowing the Processing Jobs list to load, sort, and paginate without timing out in high-volume projects. |
PROC-8370 | Fix | Processing Grid | Fixed a bug where keyword searches would not return results for GIF files in the Processing Grid and the ECA grid, even when the files contained searchable data. |
PROC-8683 | Fix | Processing Grid | Addressed an issue where attachments from replaced errored archives were missing from the Processed Files grid when Suppress Inline Email Images was enabled. Disabling this setting allows all attachments to be processed and indexed correctly. |
PROC-8744 | Fix | Processing Grid | Fixed an issue where N/A was not available as a search option in the OCR Status and Text Extraction Status columns. Users can now filter these columns by N/A, alongside Pending, Success, and Error, with searches returning the expected results and correct file counts. |
PROC-8543 | Fix | Processing Grid | Resolved an issue where the Index Status column in the Processed Files grid displayed only Not Indexed or Index Error, omitting Indexed and Encrypted statuses. All applicable statuses are now displayed correctly, including Encrypted for password-protected files, and can be used to filter the Processed Files grid. |
PROC-8630 | Fix | Processing Grid | Corrected an issue where metadata fields in the Processed Files grid would appear blank after upload, processing, and indexing completed. |
PROC-8627 | Fix | Processing Grid | Fixed an issue where duplicate files would be promoted to Review from the Processed Files grid despite project-level deduplication settings. |
PROC-8681 | Fix | Processing Grid | Fixed an issue where batch promotion from the Processed Files grid would re-promote duplicate files when they were selected alongside new files. Already-promoted duplicates are now identified and excluded, while only unique, non-promoted files are promoted to Review. A confirmation alert also informs users when their selection includes documents that have already been promoted. |
PROC-9106 | Fix | Processing Settings | Fixed a bug where the Embedded Object Extraction option was only visible in the Edit Processing Settings modal when disabled, preventing users from viewing or changing the setting from the Processing Settings view. The Embedded Object Extraction option is now always displayed in the Processing Settings view, regardless of whether it is enabled or disabled. |
PROC-9352 | Fix | Promote to Review | An issue that would cause Promote to Review exports to ignore the custom Start Number configured in Project Settings was resolved. Begin Numbers now start at the specified value for new projects, while subsequent exports continue the existing numbering sequence as expected. |
PROC-9260 | Fix | Promote to Review | Fixed a bug where Promote to Review jobs ignored the selected PST/OST Handling option and instead used the project’s configured Native Email File Type when promoting review documents. |
PROC-8705 | Fix | Promote to Review | Improved the Promote to Review confirmation modal to accurately identify files that have already been promoted. An alert now appears when users attempt to promote a duplicate entry or re-promote the same file within the selected files, displaying the number of documents already in Review and making it clear which files will be skipped. |
PROC-9487 | Fix | Promote to Review | Fixed an issue where duplicate job name validation errors on the Promote to Review page displayed as raw serialized JSON. When an existing job name is entered, a clear, readable error message is now shown prompting users to choose a different name. |
RENT-25679 | Fix | Production Job | Fixed an issue where cancelling a Production job would incorrectly display an “Unable to get slipsheet text” error and mark the job as Errored instead of Cancelled. Cancelled and failed jobs now show the correct status, and job logs no longer incorrectly report them as completed successfully. |
RENT-23759 | Fix | Production | Addressed a bug where a suffix connector, such as a period or hyphen, would appear on the first page of a document when document-level numbering in Productions was set to begin on the second page. Suffix connectors now appear only on pages that contain page numbers. |
RENT-23222 | Fix | Production | Resolved an issue where Production jobs would time out or get stuck at 99% during preprocessing, particularly when processing large or complex datasets. Task queue handling has been improved to prevent premature timeouts, allowing Production jobs to finish preprocessing and complete successfully. |
RENT-17580 | Fix | Production | A bug where slipsheets in Production exports were generated as JPG files based on the native document’s color settings, resulting in unnecessarily large file sizes, has been resolved. Slipsheets now use the configured Black/White image format, regardless of whether the native document is detected as color. |
RENT-23141 | Fix | Improved Print job processing in Reveal Review to prevent large jobs from getting stuck or failing when the Imaging Pod stops prematurely, sometimes resulting in incorrectly spliced documents. Imaging and compression processes now work together throughout the job, ensuring jobs finish successfully. | |
PROC-8981 | Fix | Projects | Fixed a bug where lock contention on the shared Projects table caused intermittent timeouts when calling the POST /processing/api/project endpoint. |
RENT-23479 | Fix | Project Admin | Resolved several permission and access issues in the Project Admin section of Reveal Review. Users are no longer redirected to the homepage when accessing Project Admin without the Manage Admin Folder permission, and the Project Admin tab now appears for users with View Archives or Manage Case Archives permissions. The navigation also displays only the pages users are authorized to access, preventing unauthorized access to Project Admin settings. |
RENT-25570 | Fix | Reveal Upload Manager | Fixed an issue where Upload Manager would parse load files based on their file extension instead of the delimiter profile selected during upload setup. This would cause CSV-formatted load files with a .dat extension to be incorrectly parsed using the Concordance profile, resulting in skipped records and jobs remaining in Submitted status without a clear error. |
RENT-24003 | Fix | Reports | Addressed an issue with date formatting in User Action Report exports where dates appeared in day-first format with 24-hour time and a separate time-zone offset column. The Date column now displays a month-first US date and 12-hour time with AM/PM in the selected time zone, without requiring manual reformatting. |
RENT-23901 | Fix | Review Manager | Addressed an issue where copying a project template in Review Manager would fail to copy certain saved searches when options such as stemming or synonyms were unset, resulting in a “String was not recognized as a valid Boolean” error. |
RENT-25512 | Fix | Review Manger | An issue where Storage Mover jobs failed to save S3 path updates for an entire batch due to long error-prefixed file paths has been resolved. This left successfully moved files marked as pending and caused repeated move attempts. Native and text file path fields now support up to 400 characters, increased from 255, preventing these errors from affecting other files in the batch. |
RENT-23297 | Fix | Review Manager | Recreating a deleted custom field with the same name no longer causes conflicts with outdated settings or values in the search index. Validation has been added in Review Manager, Project Admin > Fields, and the Fields ASPX page to prevent reusing field names that still exist in the search index. Users are now prompted to choose a different field name to avoid conflicts with previous field configurations. |
RENT-22273 | Fix | Review Manager | Fixed an issue in Review Manager where copying project templates would overwrite Processing-to-Review import mappings, causing incorrect field mappings and metadata indexing failures, particularly for documents containing EDRM_MSGID values. |
RENT-22952 | Fix | Review Grid | Fixed an issue where alert icons were missing or displayed inconsistently in the grid, even when alert details were populated. Alert information is now correctly updated during indexing, and the icon displays when the Has Alert field is set to Y and remains hidden when set to N. |
PROC-8494 | Fix | Review Grid | Fixed a bug where PDF files were incorrectly flagged with “PDF ANNOTATIONS” in the Hidden Content field even when no annotation content existed in the native file. The Hidden Content field now correctly reports PDF annotations only when the attributes are actually present, preventing false positives and user confusion. |
RENT-21498 | Fix | Redactions | Fixed a bug where redactions without text would not appear in the All Redactions Text modal. These redactions now display as “[No Label]”, allowing users to view both labeled and unlabeled redactions. |
RENT-22918 | Fix | Settings | Resolved a bug where changing regional language settings, such as English UK, would cause inconsistent Master Date formatting or revert the language preference to the default when switching between projects. |
PROC-8898 | Fix | Settings Template | Fixed an issue with Date Range fields in Settings Templates where the “After” and “Before'“ filter options did not accept complete date values and the “Between” option would display invalid dates. Date filter operations now allow users to enter and save valid Month, Day, and Year values consistently. |
PROC-8676 | Fix | Search | Corrected an issue where searches could not be performed from the Processing Grid or ECA before documents were promoted to Review. Searches now use the Processing Elasticsearch index, allowing search terms to return results correctly without requiring documents to be promoted to Review first. |
RENT-24938 | Fix | Supervised Learning | Updated the Batch Composition descriptions under Supervised Learning > Classifier Configuration to correctly reflect the two available AI-driven options: Diverse Active and Diverse High Scoring. |
RENT-23825 | Fix | Tag Profiles | Fixed an issue where copying settings from a project template containing Tag Profiles would trigger an error in Review Manager or the web interface, preventing the settings from being applied to a new project. Project templates and their associated Tag Profiles can now be copied to new projects without errors. |
RENT-24375 | Fix | Tag Profiles | Addressed an issue where configuring Tag Profiles would cause slow performance, prevent fields from being added or moved to the desired position within a pane, and result in missing tags or duplicate panes after saving. Users can now add and rearrange fields at any position, with changes displayed correctly and saved without affecting the tag profile layout. |
RENT-24980 | Fix | Tags | Resolved an issue where running multiple bulk tag jobs simultaneously within the same project would cause database deadlocks and timeouts, resulting in job failures. Bulk tagging now processes documents in manageable batches to reduce database contention. |
RENT-25579 | Fix | Tags | Fixed an issue where using Copy Settings would cause tags with the same name in different tag sets to share a single internal ID. This would result in documents appearing as untagged even when a tag was applied, with no tag history available. Tags now receive unique IDs for each tag set. |
RENT-24266 | Fix | Tags | Improved the responsiveness of the Tag Management dialog when creating Mutually Exclusive tags with AI predictions enabled in Reveal AI projects. Previously, the dialog would stall for nearly a minute, and newly created tags would only appear after a manual refresh. Tags are now created faster, and the dialog closes and updates the grid automatically. |
RENT-24669 | Fix | Tags | Fixed an issue where AI tag prediction scores would cause Elasticsearch field mapping conflicts during metadata indexing, resulting in indexing failures and documents not appearing in Review. |
RENT-24553 | Fix | Tags | Corrected an issue where Bulk Tag jobs updating document notes or slipsheet fields would fail with a “KeyNotFoundException” error when the selected documents included both locked and unlocked documents. Bulk Tag jobs now skip locked documents according to their lock settings and continue processing the remaining documents without failing. |
PROC-8674 | Fix | Templates | Resolved a bug where the Suppress Inline Email Images option was missing from Global Processing Settings templates. The option is now available throughout the Processing Settings workflow, aligning with project-level configuration. |
PROC-8671 | Fix | Templates | A bug where Embedded Object Extraction settings configured in Global Processing Templates were not applied to new projects was fixed. Global template settings are now applied by default and remain configurable at the project level. |
RENT-21713 | Fix | Users | Resetting a user’s two-factor authentication as a Company Admin no longer requires SMS verification codes sent to the previously registered phone number. Previously registered devices are now cleared during the reset, allowing users to set up two-factor authentication again using the available authentication methods, even if they no longer have access to their original phone number. |
RENT-24194 | Fix | Users | Resetting authentication for the currently logged-in user no longer clears their First Name, Last Name, and Email fields. User details are now preserved when authentication is reset. |
PROC-9183 | Fix | Uploads | Resolved an issue where completed Upload jobs were not displayed in the Processing Jobs modal after successfully finishing. |
RENT-24090 | Fix | Wordlists | A bug where duplicate terms appeared as separate rows in exported Wordlist results instead of being consolidated into a single row has been resolved. Duplicate terms are now combined into one row, while terms with different capitalization, such as “Cat” and “cat,” continue to appear separately as expected. |
